Role description

Position:

ServiceNow Portal Developer

 

 

Summary of Position:

The ServiceNow Portal Developer responsible for being an expert ServiceNow Service Portal Developer, developing custom service portals for our clients. You will work directly with internal stakeholders and manage their requirements as well.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Should be able to lead, manage & guide the team
  • Creating and implementing complex pages
  • Creating and implementing custom widgets
  • Implementing designer-provided user interfaces
  • Matching the UI from designs on various pages of a portal
  • Resolving UI performance bottlenecks
  • Resolving complex widget defects
  • Writing ATF tests
  • Analyzing usage statistics
  • Ensuring custom widgets and pages are ready for upgrade

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an IT, IS, or business-related field
  • 5-7 years of relevant consulting/industry IT experience in a technical field
  • 5+ years of experience developing or working with any of the following languages: JavaScript, CSS, HTML, HTML 5, AngularJS, React and/or Bootstrap
  • 5+ years of web software development experience, working in an Agile Development methodology in a CI/CD delivery methodology.
  • Experience with integrations, platform configuration, design, and deployment
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Technically savvy and able to design and build applications that meet business goals and objectives
  • Self-motivated, creative problem-solver who can adapt to new technologies and evolving customer requirements
  • Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment
  • Able to communicate (verbal and written) in a clear and concise manner, tailoring the communication appropriately to the intended audience
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Capable of dealing with and managing conflict
  • Able to work effectively in an environment with many competing and high priority demands

Education & Work Experience

  • 5+ years of experience with ServiceNow development
  • 5+ years of experience developing custom service portals
  • ServiceNow Certifications a plus (bonus for ServiceNow Portal Fundamentals, ServiceNow Portal Advanced)
  • Experience with custom application development including Custom Service Portal widget creation
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management, Information Systems or related discipline preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

This position must maintain emotional control under stress. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit and talk or hear. Occasionally the employee will repeat the same hand, arm or finger motion many times. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. This position also requires lifting and transporting of materials - up to 20 pounds, the ability to problem solve and retain information. This position also requires frequent travel, a flexible schedule including occasional evenings, and attending conferences.
