The Israel Electric Corporation’s top tenders committee headed by Dan Elman has approved an agreement with NESS Technologies to provide an ERP solution by the SAP company (an integrated software package for managing organizational resources encompassing finance, purchasing, inventory, maintenance, and human resources), at a cost of about USD 6 million over four years.
IEC Board chairman Eli Landau and CEO Dr. Jacob Razon noted that the first phase would address finance. They emphasized the organizational importance of the software, which will provide managers with immediate access to current data in finance, purchasing, inventory, maintenance and human resources, enhancing management overall.
Zvi Harpak, who heads the Information Systems and Communication division at the IEC, stresses that the contract with NESS Technologies is designed to transfer unique knowledge from Israel and abroad as part of the implementation of the SAP package at the Electric Corporation, designed to provide efficient, quality support for computerized solutions to managing the company’s internal resources.
Zvi Harpak noted further that “the information transfer would be done with the full cooperation of work teams set up within the IEC to support use of the package once it is on board at the company.”
Yoram Michaelis, president of the Organizational Solutions Group at NESS, noted that the ERP systems by SAP, for which NESS is the representative in Israel, are considered among the worlds most advanced and provide a comprehensive environment for managing the organization’s resources.
The 'mySAP Business Suite' system serves large, medium-size and small organizations in Israel. The IEC is the 100th customer for SAP in Israel. Several hundred locally-trained experts insure that the system’s implementation will achieve its fullest organizational and commercial effectiveness for Israeli customers.
